Privacy Policy

ShiftTotal is designed to do its calculations and generate printable output in your browser. This notice describes the current implementation, including optional advertising. The operator is the individual operator of ShiftTotal, based in Ontario, Canada.
Your tool entries
Inputs, generated questions, custom words, notes, schedules and calculation results are processed in this browser tab. The application does not send these entries to an application database, analytics service or AI provider. Reloading or closing the tab normally clears them. Files you download and pages you print are stored wherever you choose; we do not control those copies.
Optional saved preferences
If you select “Remember layout preferences”, paper size, orientation and supported layout choices are stored in your browser’s local storage. This is off by default. It does not store student records, shift entries, custom words or personal notes. Use “Clear saved preferences” in a tool or your browser’s site-data controls to remove these settings. Other people using the same browser profile may access saved preferences.
Hosting and essential processing
The hosting provider may process IP addresses, request times, browser information and requested URLs for delivery, security and operational logs. Optional Analytics runs only with your permission, as described below. Advertising is currently disabled. The contact form uses a session cookie as described below. Hosting retention depends on the provider and configured account settings.
Optional Google Analytics
If you select “Allow analytics”, Google Analytics measures visits, page views, traffic sources, approximate geography and device/browser information using first-party cookies and online identifiers. We use these reports to improve the site. Analytics does not load until you allow it; declining does not restrict the tools. We do not send tool entries, contact messages, URL query strings or URL fragments to Analytics. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in this implementation.
Your analytics choice is stored on this device for up to 180 days, separately for this website. Analytics cookies are set for up to 180 days; browser controls can remove them sooner. Google Analytics event-level retention is set to its default two months; aggregate reports may be retained longer. Google may process information outside Canada. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to allow or decline analytics later. Withdrawing permission stops further Analytics collection in this browser and removes this site’s Analytics cookies; it does not erase data already processed. Contact pages do not load Analytics.
Contact messages
If you use our contact form, your reply email, optional name, selected topic and message are sent through GoDaddy hosting to the operator’s private email inbox, serviced by Google. We use these details to respond to your request, handle privacy or legal matters and protect the service. Do not include sensitive information or children’s personal data. Messages may be retained while handling the request and where needed for records, legal obligations or claims; you can request deletion subject to applicable exceptions. These providers may process information outside Canada.
The contact form sets an essential session cookie to protect submissions and show confirmation. Abuse prevention uses a keyed representation of your IP address and temporary submission counters; it does not save message bodies in a website database. The cookie is intended to expire when the browser session ends; browser session-restoration settings may retain it. No marketing mailing list is created from contact messages.
Advertising when enabled
Live advertising is currently off. If Google AdSense is enabled on this site, Google and participating advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses and information about visits to deliver, measure, limit and protect advertising, including personalized advertising where permitted. A configured consent-management platform provides the applicable choices before advertising is activated. Declining optional purposes does not prevent you from using the tools. An ad blocker may also prevent ads from loading.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s ad-personalization controls. Advertising partners may process information in countries other than yours under their own safeguards and policies.
Privacy choices and rights
Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to change your Analytics choice, and access advertising choices when advertising is active. You can also change browser cookie settings and clear local site data. Depending on your location, applicable law may give you rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal data, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, opt out of certain advertising uses, or complain to a supervisory authority. These rights may be subject to lawful conditions and exceptions. Contact the operator through the operator’s contact form to make a request; do not send sensitive information until a suitable process is agreed.
Children and educational materials
The worksheet tools are intended for adults preparing printed materials. There are no student accounts, grades, online answer submissions or required names. Do not enter children’s personal information. Advertising configuration must reflect the actual audience and any required child-directed treatment. An intended adult audience alone does not determine the applicable rules.
